Clinacanthus nutans
Scandent shrubs to 1 m tall. Stems terete, striate, finely ribbed, glabrescent. Leaves blade lanceolate-ovate, lanceolate, or linear-lanceolate or oblong, 4.2–12 × 0.7–4 cm, both surfaces pubescent or puberulous, base cuneate to rounded, apex acuminate, margin subentire to crenate secondary, veins 4–6 on each side of midvein and abaxially elevated Petiole short 0.2–1.1 cm, sulcate, pubescent. Inflorescences cyme terminal; rachis glandular-pubescent; bracts linear, ca. 5 mm long, abaxially glandular-pubescent, apex acute. Bracteoles similar. Pedicel ca. 3 mm. long, puberulous. Calyx 0.9–1.2 cm; lobes linear, outside glandular-pubescent, apex acute. Corolla dull red with a green base, 3.5 cm long, outside glandular-pubescent, inside glabrous except for a ring of hairs ca. 5-7 mm above base; tube basally cylindric then gradually widened at mouth; lower lip triangular, 1.2 cm long, with yellow streaks; upper lip lanceolate, 1.3 cm long, erect, apex emarginate; lobes ovate. Stamens exserted from mouth of corolla; filaments 1.2–1.4 cm, glabrous; anthers ovate-linear, 4 mm long, muticous. Disc annular. Ovary and style base with scattered hairs. Style 2.7–3 cm long. Capsule not yet seen.
